Our Mission

Neshama Rescue is an all volunteer independent,  501(c)(3) animal welfare and education organization. Our mission is to promote the rescue and adoption of companion animals, with a focus on senior and special needs pets. We believe every soul has intrinsic value and we seek to help communities see that value to create a kinder world. Our goals are to rescue animals from shelters, place them in loving foster homes, and adopt them out to forever homes, as well as strengthen our communities’ education, laws and regulations regarding animal overpopulation and care.

Prince and Lucy

Prince and Lucy are a bonded pair of seniors who are looking for their forever home together. They are cautiously loving and eager to trust. Dropped off at the pound with another dog and a cat, they were neglected and uncared for. They are looking for a home forever who will show them love and gentleness.

Vinny ADOPTED!

Vinnie is a sweet and funny older gentleman. Abandoned at the age of 10, he is eager to find love and forever commitment from a family. He is being fostered with dogs and cats and has done well with them, even though they are overly interested ! He stays in a crate when his humans aren’t around and enjoys his crate and listening to classical music to calm him. Once he gets into a routine with his forever family, he will relax and be so happy.

Carson ADOPTED!

Carson is an amazing and loving boy. Found as a stray, it is guessed that he was in not a good situation and didn’t know love. When he was at animal control, they discovered he was blind and was potentially hit by a car- had a very wounded back leg. He’s had one of his eyes removed and will soon be undergoing heartworm treatment. He’s as loving and beautiful as he is hopeful. He is being fostered with dogs and cats and if they move mindfully, does well with humans of all ages! He’s very kind and grateful for a warm and large bed!

Toothless ADOPTED!

Toothless is a non-toothless , healthy and hilarious 4 month old long-haired kitten. His favorite activity is confusing humans by being oddly playful then being sleepy and cuddly seconds later. He loves to snuggle, but is very playful and would do best in a home with other kittens or cats. He is slightly nervous around dogs, but does well with humans of all ages and cats also.

Dreidelle ADOPTED!

Dreidelle is a 1-year-old female grey tabby. She is eager for love and pets. She is a sweet and cuddly young mother who had to grow up very fast. Now she wants to snuggle and relax with her humans! Dreidelle is good with dogs and wary of other cats but adjusts with time.

If you are interested in giving Dreidelle a forever home, please contact us!

Earl Grey ADOPTED!

Earl Grey is a plus sized 4 year old, neutered snuggle cat. While he becomes fine with other cats, he wouldn't mind being in a home where he is the only cat. As regal as his name connotes, he is ready for snuggles as well! He is funny and chunky as well as eager for pets. If you are interested in Earl Grey, please apply to be his forever home! He deserves the best!

Oatmeal ADOPTED!

Oatmeal is an approximately four year old long-haired tortie. She was very stressed in the animal shelter and needed out right away. Once in a foster home Oatmeal showed her true nature which is sweet and snuggly. Oatmeal enjoys lounging in bed, preferably in a nice sunny spot, and pets. She is up to date on all of her shots and spayed.

If you are interesting in learning more or applying to adopt Oatmeal, please contact us!

Importance of Donations to Animal Rescue

Neshama Animal Rescue relies on the generosity of donors in order to fund our work. When we pull a dog or cat from an animal shelter, we often need to spend funds on veterinary care to ensure the health of the animal before it is eligible to be adopted. We work with our veternary partners to help our rescues get healthy.

Often animals who have spent time in the shelter are not in the best health because of stress or being exposed to other animals who may be sick.

Please consider making a donation to Neshama Animal Rescue. Your donation will go directly to the care of an animal in our rescue.
